Research Slam and Winter Party!

The 6th Annual Research Slam and Winter Party, January 11, 2021 was a great success!  Over 70 people participated from at least 14 states.  Nine slammers shared their creativity, enthusiasm and research.  The following presenters won the three awards:  Who thought Archaeologists Could be so Creative?–Jim Watson for his presentation titled, “Growing up along the Rio Yaqui in Late Prehispanic Sonora”; Most Laughs–Erin Baxter for her presentation titled, “The Curious Case of Alferd Packer”; and the Grand Slam Award–Amanda Semanko for her presentation titled, “Rudy the Mimbres Dog Learns New Tricks”.  The social hour added more fun and gave folks an opportunity to share ideas and be together, too much of a rarity in these days of Covid.  Thanks to everyone who participated and all those who helped to put on this special event!
